Our mission is to democratize knowledge about trauma and its profound impacts on individuals and communities. We are dedicated to educating the public on the multifaceted nature of trauma, its effects on mental health and well-being, and the diverse treatment modalities available, many of which extend beyond traditional talk therapy. By fostering understanding and awareness, we aim to empower individuals to seek and access the support they need, ultimately contributing to a more informed and compassionate society (Guyon-Harris, Humphreys, & Zeanah, 2021).
We strive to integrate evidence-based practices and critical thinking in the training of mental health professionals, the legal system, educators, parents, caretakers and the masses they are equipped to provide trauma-informed care. Our organization emphasizes the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to enhance the quality and effectiveness of trauma treatment (Attached1.pdf).
We highlight the necessity for greater specificity in linking adverse caregiving experiences in early life to psychopathology in children. By distinguishing experiences of trauma from experiences of deprivation, we aim to lead to more accurate and targeted diagnosis and treatment for young children (Guyon-Harris, Humphreys, & Zeanah, 2021). Our efforts support the development of a trauma-informed workforce and community, creating an environment where healing and recovery can flourish. Through our commitment to these principles, we strive to ensure that the unique needs of individuals affected by trauma are recognized and addressed with compassion and expertise.
